John Karason joined Krupin Partners in 2017 as Controller and is responsible for all accounting, finance, treasury and human resources activities of the Company. He also serves as the primary liaison between auditing and tax preparation.
Prior to joining Krupin Partners John was the Controller / CFO of a medical surgical group for 11 years and with the IRS for 18 years where he held various roles of increasing responsibility. Additional work experience includes being the Assistant Controller for a chain of nursing homes and Tax Manager for Lehman Bros – L’equestrian group. In all John brings over 34 years of experience in accounting, audit, finance and tax to Krupin Partners.
John did his undergraduate studies at Baldwin Wallace College (Accounting, Political Science) and graduate studies at OSU (Economics) and Ashland (Business Administration). He has been a visiting or guest professor at numerous Universities throughout Ohio. He is the author of five textbooks and is the co-author on an additional seven. These textbooks have been used by Universities and the IRS as part of their curriculum.
John was a member of the OSBOA legislative committee and helped author and pass the Nation’s first healthcare and retirement plan for individuals within the horse racing industry in Ohio.
John has served as the co-chairman for the Curriculum Committee of OSU-Wooster and as a member of the American Paintings Committee of the Cleveland Museum of Art.
